Chauffeur Drive ’08 has announced its exclusive seminar programme which is free for any visitor to attend during the two days event.

Come and hear a whole range of industry professionals speak on various topics such as advanced driving, law and licensing, leasing and buying and many others. There will be two seminars rooms in operation on both days, which can house up to 100 people, so make sure you study the programme and make a plan of what seminars you want to attend.

 

Sunday 20th April

Seminar room one:

11.00. The law and how it affects you.
Topics covered: Licensing, limo laws, motion picture licensing, alcohol licensing, working/driving hours and much more. Hosts: Bill Bowling – NLCA. Terrance Flanagan – GMB Union. Ian Bacon, VOSA and officials from The Public Carriage Office.
Duration: 1hr.

12:15. Unions and associations. What they can do for you.
Confused about how an association can help your business, or how a union can help you in times of trouble? This seminar will hear from all the industry associations and unions to help you decide if they can help you. Hosted by the Institute of Professional Drivers and Chauffeurs, GMB Professional Drivers Union, National Limousine and Chauffeur Association and The Licensed Private Hire Car Association. Duration: 1hr.

13.30. VOSA industry discussion forum
Head of Traffic Enforcement policy Neil Barlow and Passenger Service Vehicle Policy Engineer Ian Bacon will be hosting a seminar on the role of the agency and the current situation regarding the compliance of the limousine industry.

The seminar will cover the overall limousine process from designing, importing and purchasing a vehicle through to registration, operation and maintenance requirements. The aim of the seminar is to improve compliance within the industry and ensure the vehicles are run in a safe and legal manner. The seminar will also cover some of the future changes that are expected to impact on the industry such as the introduction the EC whole vehicle type approval scheme.

15:15. National Limousine and Chauffeur Association introduction and meeting.
A unique introduction to the industry’s oldest association and how it can benefit you and you business and help you meet like-minded business owners.
